- Students who are new to Bailey at the start of 7th grade will not be eligible until their 8th grade year.
- Students who are new to Bailey at the start of 8th grade will not be eligible for this opportunity unless they were inducted at their prior school.
- 6th grade students in Pre-Math 1: In order to maintain equity with our selection process, students who are enrolled in Pre-Math 1 will still be invited to apply for membership as long as they do not earn more than one "B" in any quarter of Pre-Math 1.
- 7th grade students in Math I and 8th grade students in Math II: In order to maintain equity with our selection process, students who are enrolled in Math I as 7th graders or Math II as 8th graders (High School credit courses) must maintain "A/B" Honor Roll in Math I or Math II as well as "A" Honor Roll in all other classes to qualify for the NJHS selection process.
SERVICE EXPECTATIONS FOR NJHS:
Community service, one of the key components of membership in NJHS, allows you to have a positive impact on others while learning about yourself. This year, we are asking each member to complete at least 6 service hours a quarter. In addition to completing the hours, we would like members to assume the responsibility for documenting their times. You may print the Excel sheet below if you would like to submit a hard copy to Mrs. Schneider or you may use the Google Classroom to submit a digital copy.
During the year we will share various opportunities to serve at Bailey and throughout our community. Please sign up for the opportunities that are most meaningful to you. There will be limited space, so we encourage you to sign up quickly if you are interested. We also expect you to be present for those events. If you cannot make an event, please find a replacement or let one of us know so we can find a replacement for you.
Since we are such a large group it is not possible for us to organize and chaperone enough things for everyone, so we encourage you to find some things on your own that fit your interests. We would also appreciate any leads that you can share about opportunities for our members.
We will review your service records at the end of each quarter. Not participating in service and/or not providing documentation of service may impact a student's membership standing.
Service opportunities will be shared through Remind 101 and Google Classroom.
NJHS members should sign up for the Google Classroom (mp5n7cr).
NJHS members should get a Remind 101 codes depending on their grade level from Mrs. Schneider
